What​ ​is​ ​the​ ​One​ ​Card​ ​program? It’s​ ​a​ ​cooperative​ ​program​ ​between​ ​the​ ​Eagle​ ​County​ ​Schools​ ​(ECS),​ ​Eagle​ ​Valley Library​ ​District​ ​(EVLD)​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Vail​ ​Public​ ​Library​ ​(VPL)​ ​to​ ​provide​ ​every​ ​student​ ​free access​ ​to​ ​information​ ​and​ ​educational​ ​resources​ ​at​ ​the​ ​public​ ​libraries​ ​by​ ​using​ ​their Student​ ​I.D.​ ​number.

How​ ​does​ ​it​ ​work? It’s​ ​simple.​ ​Enrollment​ ​in​ ​the​ ​program​ ​is​ ​part​ ​of​ ​the​ ​online​ ​registration/information update​ ​process.​ ​​ ​Parents​ ​may​ ​​opt-out​​ ​of​ ​the​ ​One​ ​Card​ ​program​ ​at​ ​that​ ​time.​ ​​ ​If​ ​they​ ​do not​ ​opt​ ​out,​ ​the​ ​student’s​ ​school​ ​ID​ ​will​ ​work​ ​like​ ​a​ ​library​ ​card​ ​at​ ​all​ ​three​ ​EVLD​ ​libraries (Avon,​ ​Eagle​ ​and​ ​Gypsum)​ ​and​ ​at​ ​VPL.

The​ ​public​ ​libraries​ ​are​ ​committed​ ​to​ ​supporting​ ​student​ ​learning​ ​and​ ​academic achievement​ ​by​ ​providing​ ​resources​ ​to​ ​help​ ​them​ ​become​ ​lifelong​ ​learners.​ ​One​ ​Card simplifies​ ​the​ ​library​ ​card​ ​application​ ​process​ ​and​ ​connects​ ​students​ ​to​ ​millions​ ​of​ ​FREE resources​ ​including:
● Computer​ ​use​ ​and​ ​Wifi​ ​at​ ​the​ ​libraries
● Extensive​ ​research​ ​databases​ ​for​ ​homework
● Language​ ​learning​ ​tools
● Books,​ ​audiobooks,​ ​graphic​ ​novels,​ ​movies​ ​and​ ​magazines
● Digital​ ​and​ ​Downloadable​ ​Resources​ ​such​ ​as​ ​eBooks,​ ​eAudiobooks,​ ​eMusic​ ​and eMagazines

Are​ ​all​ ​students​ ​eligible​ ​for​ ​the​ ​program? All​ ​K​ ​-​ ​12​ ​Eagle​ ​County​ ​School​ ​District​ ​students​ ​are​ ​eligible.

How​ ​much​ ​does​ ​this​ ​cost? It’s​ ​free!

What​ ​do​ ​I​ ​need​ ​to​ ​know​ ​about​ ​borrowing​ ​privileges? How​ ​does​ ​my​ ​child​ ​access​ ​their​ ​library​ ​account? Students​ ​just​ ​need​ ​their​ ​ECS​ ​student​ ​I.D.​ ​number​ ​and​ ​when​ ​accessing​ ​their​ ​account online,​ ​they​ ​just​ ​type​ ​an​ ​​”s​​” ​and​ ​then​ ​their​ ​student​ ​number.

When​ ​does​ ​my​ ​child’s​ ​account​ ​expire? Your​ ​child’s​ ​account​ ​doesn’t​ ​expire​ ​as​ ​long​ ​as​ ​your​ ​child​ ​is​ ​a​ ​student​ ​with​ ​the​ ​Eagle County​ ​Schools.

My​ ​child​ ​isn’t​ ​an ​Eagle​ ​County​ ​School Student? At​ ​this​ ​time,​ ​the​ ​One​ ​Card​ ​program​ ​is​ ​only​ ​available​ ​to​ ​ECS​ ​students.​ ​However,​ ​the Eagle​ ​Valley​ ​Library​ ​District​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Vail​ ​Public​ ​Library​ ​want​ ​all​ ​students​ ​to​ ​have​ ​a library​ ​card​ ​and​ ​access​ ​to​ ​millions​ ​of​ ​free​ ​resources.​ ​Contact​ ​the​ ​​Eagle​ ​Valley​ ​Libraries and​ ​the​ ​​Vail​ ​Public​ ​Library​​ ​to​ ​sign​ ​your​ ​child​ ​up​ ​for​ ​a​ ​library​ ​card,​ ​today!

Are​ ​you​ a ​teacher? The​ ​Eagle​ ​Valley​ ​Library​ ​District​ ​offers​ ​a​ ​free​ ​Teacher​ ​Card.​ ​​ ​Vail​ ​Public​ ​Library​ ​also offers​ ​a​ ​library​ ​card​ ​to​ ​teachers​ ​in​ ​Eagle​ ​County.
