Very Young Composers of Vail Concert July 28 1pm.
Join us July 28th at 1pm to hear music written by Vail Valley youth, performed by members of the New York Philharmonic.
Very Young Composers, a program of Youth Power 365 in partnership with the New York Philharmonic and The Playground Ensemble, allows students of all backgrounds to create their own musical piece from start to finish, during a week-long workshop.
With the help of teaching artists, students learn how to compose for different instruments. Then, they write their own story and set the story to music. The program will culminate in a public performance of all the student compositions.
This open to the public family concert will feature music, stories and art, all by area young. It is a true celebration of youth creativity.
The Very Young Composers program was brought to Vail in 2006 by its creator, Jon Deak of the New York Philharmonic.
