Category: Adults Author Event: Craig Johnson @ CMC

September 8, 2015

The One Book One Valley 2015 read, “A Cold Dish,” was chosen for a variety of reasons: it is a title of high literary merit , it has high appeal across age and gender lines, it has allowed us to pursue new programming options such as a tie-in to the Longmire television series, the author, a resident of Wyoming, has agreed to visit our county in person, and the book has themes that will resonate with our community.

The mission of the One Book One Valley initiative is to encourage reading among people of all ages and to bring the community together through a shared, common experience. We strive to make the chosen book come alive through our programs and we want readers to understand the setting of the book, as well as the characters.

One Book One Valley Community Read is a collaborative program offered by: Vail Public Library, Eagle Valley Library District, The Bookworm, and Colorado Mountain College.

The 2015 initiative of One Book One Valley kicked off in January of 2015, for its fourth year, at the Eagle Public Library and was followed by a series of events around the Valley. We are continuing the initiative this summer with book discussions, Summer Reading Program incentives, and Craig Johnson will be visiting  Colorado Mountain College
