National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all. The theme for National Library Week 2020 is " Find Your Place at the Library," and Olympic medalists Maia and Alex Shibutani will serve as 2020 National Library Week Honorary Chairs.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and observed in libraries across the country each April. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.

Due to the library’s public health concerns, we will be hosting daily Virtual Story Time sessions through Facebook Live at 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday (Saturday is bilingual!). Join library staff members Cricket and Sandy  for songs, stories and movement. All you have to do is login to Facebook and join the fun!

* Clean up trash in your neighborhood (keep social distance from others)

** Post photo of doing so on social media (Facebook & Instagram) and tag vail_public_library

Slime!

We'll make slime in your kitchen or art area. Since we can't meet at the library to make our slime - we'll have to each do it at home! You will need:

Glue (at least 6 oz)
Contact lens solution(boric acid in ingredients)
Baking soda
Food color if you want
Shaving Cream if you want
Glitter if you are allowed

Kids Create is our monthly after school art program where students have opportunities to creative unique works of art.

Virtual Bi-lingual Story time
