LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH 2021LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH 2021 N/A September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Vail Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning. This year, Marley Dias, founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, author and executive producer, is taking on a new role as honorary chair of Library Card Sign-Up Month. In her new role, Dias will promote the value of libraries and encourage everyone to get their very own library card. Virtual YogaVirtual Yoga – Join us for yoga from the comfort of your own home! EVENINGS OF ENGAGEMENT WITH REBECCA FOLSOMEVENINGS OF ENGAGEMENT WITH REBECCA FOLSOM – Join us! for our last outdoor Evenings of Engagement concert of the season in our back lawn featuring: Rebecca Folsom When you hear Rebecca’s voice, with its earthy resonance and sparks of color and light, you feel a divine energy stirring beneath the surface: it’s achingly beautiful. Her music glides from tender to powerful, moving from lilting ballads to knock-you-to-your-knees blues. Rebecca is part grounded Zen, part fiery red head. She brings a hauntingly sumptuous voice to the Folk Americana scene that warms hearts. Bring your own chair, all of our events are held outdoors on our back lawn. Depending on the weather forecast, the location of the event will be changed to the library's community room. For more information, email Sandy at SRivera@vailgov.com |
