October 15, 2022(1 event) Day of the Dead Community Altar - Altar Comunitario de Dia de Muertos N/A "To remember is to live again", that is what the altar reminds us, that we are always close to our loved ones and this helps us celebrate the life of those who have passed. Patrons of all ages are invited to build this offering and make "Papel Picado" and "Flor de Cempasúchil" with tissue paper. You are also welcome to place a photo of your loved one. Learn the mining of the different elements that compose the altar. The altar will be on display until November 4. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." - Thomas Campbell. “Recordar es volver a vivir”, eso es lo que nos recuerda el altar, que estemos siempre cerca de nuestros seres queridos y esto nos ayuda a celebrar la vida de los que han fallecido. November 5, 2022(1 event) ANNUAL SCARECROW BUILDING CONTEST – Form a team of friends or family and come build a scarecrow to decorate the library. The library will provide frames and art supplies. Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Store will provide clothes. Bring accessories to personalize your scarecrow. Small parts, glue guns and staple guns will be used. This creative day is appropriate for children 5 years old and older; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Teens may work independently. Prizes for the most unique and creative scarecrows!
