October 17, 2021(1 event) TOUCH A TRUCK at AT FORD PARK PARKING LOT – Vail Public Library and Children's Garden of Learning invite you to sit in the driver’s seat and explore the many vehicles that serve our community. Kids will love checking out trucks of all shapes and sizes. They will have an opportunity to climb inside of a: Trash truck, Police car, a Town of Vail Bus, an ambulance, a fire truck, a Snowcat and many more. This is a FREE event and open to the public. October 18, 2021(1 event) DAY OF THE DEAD COMMUNITY ALTAR – Join us! and be a part of our new tradition! "To remember is to live again", that is what the altar reminds us, that we are always close to our loved ones and helps us celebrate the life of those who have passed. Come to the library to build this offering, make "papel picado" and "Flor de Cempasúchil" with tissue paper, place a photo of your loved one and learn the meaning of each element. October 30, 2021(1 event) ANNUAL SCARECROW BUILDING CONTEST – Form a team of friends or family and come build a scarecrow to decorate the library. The library will provide frames and art supplies. Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Store will provide clothes. Bring accessories to personalize your scarecrow. Small parts, glue guns and staple guns will be used. This creative day is appropriate for children 5 years old and older; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Teens may work independently. Prizes for the most unique and creative scarecrows!
