August 7, 2019(2 events) Evenings of Engagement with Acoustic Eidolon – Vail Public Library favorite, Acoustic Eidolon, returns. Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire are a tour-de-force of acoustic music, described as “Superb Musicianship” by the News Reporter, Washington, GA! Join us on June 27th at 5:30pm for light refreshments and AMAZING musical harmony. Joe Scott performs on a unique, custom designed double-neck guitjo, a banjo/guitar combination created exclusively by Joe and deemed by USA Today as “a beautiful harp-like sounding instrument…. like nothing they’ve ever heard before.” The double-neck guitjo has 14 strings. Joe can play both necks simultaneously, a technique he developed over time which continues to awe his peers as well as Acoustic Eidolon’s audiences. Hannah Alkire was classically trained on the cello. She studied with G. Magyar of the Hungarian String Quartet and has won accolades worldwide for her exquisite tone and mesmerizing emotion she puts into each performance. Her inquisitive nature has prompted her to take her cello playing into uncharted territories, risky moves that have continued her reputation as a tour-de-force in cello performance. Adult Summer Reading Program Drawing – During this summer, adults registered for the Adult Summer Reading Program, have been tracking their reading and visits to Vail Public Library. For every library program attended, a ticket was put in a raffle for one of the three Fire HD 8 Tablets. Join us! after the Evenings of Engagement concert with Acoustic Eidolon on Wed. August 7th for the drawing of the tablets. |
