Tech Studio is a Makerspace program offered at Vail Public Library. What is Makerspace? Makerspace is a place for creation, collaboration and innovation; it is a place for you to get hands-on experience in a variety of technologies. It is a place where people with shared interests can come together.
We hold Robotics club in two sessions, Robotics I and Robotics II. In Robotics we use the Lego Mindstorms EV3 to build, program and complete challenges. Each week we will learn a new move and put it to the test in fun and interactive ways. Space is limited and RSVPs are required. We are asking for a commitment from participants as each week will build off the previous week. However, we do understand circumstances may prevent attendance at every meeting. For more information contact Cricket Pylman at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot. Next session begins Tuesday October 3 at 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
Oculus Rift – Virtual Reality
The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset. Rift is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Whether you’re stepping into your favorite game, watching an immersive VR movie, jumping to a destination on the other side of the world, or just spending time with friends in VR, you’ll feel like you’re really there. The magic of presence changes everything. You’ve never experienced immersion like this. Also available with the Rift are Touch controllers. Natural gestures and finger movements create a sense of true hand presence for a more realistic and physical virtual reality experience. You can manipulate objects in your virtual environment! Before you even pick up a pair of Touch controllers, you know how to use them. Intuitive actions in VR feel as natural as using your real hands. Limited to patrons age 13 and up.
