Sisters of Courage
August 31, 2016 –
Come and hear Dave Lively, a historian, present the story of the Harbison Sisters, Annie and Kittie, on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5:30pm. In 1896 Annie and Kittie Harbison homesteaded in the Kawuneeche Valley near Grand Lake. Enjoy a journey into the past sharing the pioneer experience of the Harbison sisters and their family’s extraordinary life. Learn how the Harbison girls’ ranch buildings were removed to allow their ranch to become the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Dave Lively is a dynamic speaker who specializes in shining light on absent narratives. He creates programs about local history for groups large and small. His stories of remarkable characters from the past engage audiences and bring deeper understanding and appreciation for where we are today. Dave has been leading his weekly “Sisters of Courage” walk in Rocky Mountain National Park for over 9 years.
