Vail Public Library’s Gentle Yoga Class, taught by Anne Anderson, Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Registered with Yoga Alliance, Professional Ski Instructor of America at Vail, is appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. The approach includes carefully orchestrated movements, controlled pressure, and well-measured stretches, including range of motion exercises. Postures may be approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so that the practice is simple to do and easy to remember.
Gentle yoga style encourages a highly individualized approach to practice with on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments.
Two separate parties will be going on this afternoon: more information will arrive via Owl as the date approaches! WHoo WHoo! It’s here:
Magical creatures between the ages of 8 and 15 are welcome to come travel through Diagon Alley where they can create their own wand at Olivander’s Wands, play “Harry Potter” Trivial Pursuit or sample Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. At Hogwarts, they will be sorted by the Sorting Hat into either Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin or Hufflepuff. After the sorting, children can, with their house teammates, participate in a game of quidditch, practice potions or campaign for fair treatment of house elves.
Witches and Wizards in Middle School and up will meet in the Tech Studio to practice advanced charms, manifestations, and wand casting. No underclassmen allowed!
Try a one-hour tutorial designed for all ages in over 45 languages. Design a Google Doodle; lead the rebellion or the empire through a galaxy far, far, away; explore the bottom of the ocean or the outer reaches of space; maximize your minecraft mansions; and join millions of people in over 180 countries in an Hour of Code!
