About Us

Vail Public Library

Vail Public Library offers access to information resources of many types for the needs of Vail’s guests, residents, businesses and schools.

Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including eaudiobooks, ebooks, emagazines, emusic, and evideo with a library card.

Other library services include nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.

When the library was built in 1983 and first opened its doors in the current location, we had the largest green roof west of the Mississippi River and employed many of the best-practice green design principles of the time, such as day-lighting, an earth-sheltered roof with a thermally efficient structure, and fantastic integration with and visual connection to the wonderful site. The library, now 38 years old, is still a leader in green design and an important and beautiful icon for the Town of Vail.

Vail Public Library’s regular hours are Mon. – Thu. from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fri. – Sun. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The library is located on the town’s bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)
