Vail Public Library's Gentle Yoga Class, taught by Anne Anderson, Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Registered with Yoga Alliance, Professional Ski Instructor of America at Vail, is appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. The approach includes carefully orchestrated movements, controlled pressure, and well-measured stretches, including range of motion exercises. Postures may be approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so that the practice is simple to do and easy to remember.
Gentle yoga style encourages a highly individualized approach to practice with on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments.

When her notorious, hilarious, volatile, talented, troubled, and agoraphobic mother goes missing, teenage Bee begins a trip that takes her to the ends of the Earth to find her. Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she is a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she is a disgrace; to design mavens, she is a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom. Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette’s intensifying allergy to Seattle, and people in general, has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands. A trip to the end of the Earth is problematic. To find her mother, Bee compiles e-mail messages, official documents, secret correspondence, creating a touching novel about a family coming to terms with who they are, and the power of a daughter’s love for her imperfect mother.

Friends of Libraries groups have their very own national week.
October 17-23, 2021 is the 16th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, and it’s the perfect opportunity to give our Friends a big shout out for all they do to make a difference for us.
Vail Public Library gets lot of help from our Friends of Vail Public Library. Over the years they have funded children’s programming, provide new furniture, contribute funding for new and emerging technology, and help support staff training. In addition, the Friends have rallied countless times to advocate for adequate library funding.
Friends of Vail Public Library are always looking for new members and volunteers. Join us! this is a terrific way to give back to our town and make its library even better.

"To remember is to live again", that is what the altar reminds us, that we are always close to our loved ones and helps us celebrate the life of those who have passed.
Come to the library to build this offering, make "papel picado" and "Flor de Cempasúchil" with tissue paper, place a photo of your loved one and learn the meaning of each element.
Please register and we'll send you and email with a suggestion of what element you can bring for the altar.
If you are interested, please reach out to
