Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies pairs trained teen volunteers with younger kids for a one-on-one reading experience.  Little buddies do not need to be struggling readers to benefit from this program.  Reading Buddies offers a chance for friendship while providing another set of attentive ears for our young readers.  Little buddies should be in grades Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.  Big buddies should be in 7th – 12th grades.

Contact Kate Ragan (kragan@vailgov.com or 970-479-3445) for an application and to schedule a training session!  The Summer Reading Buddies program begins Thursday June 21 and continues weekly until Aug 16.  We meet from 4:30 to 5:30.
