A Month of ‘Persuasion’ by Jane Austen
Join the Vail Public Library for a month long celebration of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion.” Continuing our annual tradition, offering a month of Austen each November, the library featured “Sense and Sensibility” and in 2013 we featured “Pride and Prejudice.” This year, we'll ponder “Persuasion,” Austen's novel about second chances. As a young girl, Anne Elliot is persuaded to decline a proposal from a then-undistinguished military officer, only to meet him again several years later when his prospects have changed. We hope you will join us to discuss Austen's oldest heroine and last-completed novel
