"There are some books that refuse to be written. They stand their ground year after year and will not be persuaded. It isn't because the book is not there and worth being written -- it is only because the right form of the story does not present itself. There is only one right form for a story and if you fail to find that form the story will not tell itself."

—Mark Twain (1835-1910) [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] American author, humorist

Dream Big - Read!

This FREE weekly event is for children entering 1st through 5th grades.

Weekly activities include arts and crafts, games and a different type of entertainment each visit.  Upon registration, children will receive a reading log and stickers.  Children are encouraged to log the time they spend reading throughout the summer.  We will record and display their reading tally and award prizes for our reader's efforts.

Change from routine this week.  This week the first hour will spotlight our entertainers.  The second hour will be library fun, games and art .  Younger siblings may join us for the entertainment portion in the company of a responsible adult.

Please note the new location for the Summer Reading Program during the renovation of the Vail Public Library. The new location is adjacent to the southwest end of the LionsHead Parking Structure and is in  the Vail Recreation District’s managed Imagination Station and Youth Services location on the second level of the parking structure.
