"Every artist wants his work to be permanent. But what is? The Aswan Dam covered some of the greatest art in the world. Venice is sinking. Great books and pictures were lost in the Florence floods. In the meantime we still enjoy butterflies."

Document Actions

Riverbend Studio is a group of seven Vail Valley residents who enjoy painting and sharing ideas and techniques on oil, watercolor and acrylic painting and drawing. Membership is by invitation only. Dana Dunbar is a noted illustrator and that style remains in the forfront of her art. Charmayne Bernhardt's great love is watercolor; however, she uses many mediums and her works varies from miniatures to large murals. Bill Clinkenbeard began art classes just seven years ago at Denver University and Colorado Mountain College and paints in oil, watercolor and acrylic. Hatsie Hinmon has a love for the outdoors and enjoys painting what she sees, with rich colors. Joann Carhart Leby paints in oils, often using a palette knife to give the textures and colorations she desires. Kathy Moore paints animals, flowers and trees in acrylic. Shanny Satterstrom focuses on color to capture the harmonies and excitement of western scenes.
