Paired couples of teens and primary students get together to read and support each other. Tuesday, September 30 - November 18, 2014 from 4:30 - 5:30

Reading Buddies is a program offered at  Vail Public Library with the support of  The Literacy Project of Eagle County. In Reading Buddies, we match volunteer middle and high school students with children in grades 1-3 for a 1 hour reading time once per week. The Reading Buddies Program meets at the Vail Public Library for an 8 week session during the school year and a 6 week session in the summer.  The 1 hour program includes a group activity, one on one reading, reflection time, and games. The purpose of Reading Buddies is to provide a leadership, responsibility, and community service opportunity by facilitating middle and high school mentors to help foster a love of reading in elementary school students.

Contact Cricket Pylman for an application to be either a Big Buddy or a Little Buddy!  Application deadline is September 19 for Big Buddies, September 19 for Little Buddies.
