Gentle Yoga – Tuesdays, 11:30 am
This Gentle Yoga class is designed to provide participants with a relaxing, meditative and healing experience. Anne Anderson is a Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Registered with Yoga Alliance and a Certified Professional Ski Instructor of America. She is President & Founder of SNOWGA, LLC, a group she created in 2009. SNOWGA blends Yoga & Snowsports into a revolutionary method of improving skills on the slopes through the wisdom of yoga. Please bring a mat if available. The library has a limited supply.
Chocolate Making Workshop @ Vail Recreation District – Friday, February 12, 6:30 pm
Join the Town of Vail Public Library and the Vail Recreation District for a Chocolate Making Workshop led by Cornerstone Chocolates. Participants must be 16 and up and participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The $20 event fee covers chocolate making materials and light snacks. Concert with “The Kilted Man” – Wednesday, February 17, 5:30 pm
Matthew Gurnsey delights audiences with his rousing performances of traditional Irish and Scottish music. Through the marriage of wit and finesse, Gurnsey charms his audiences, sweeping them into tales of wayward voyages, unrequited love and the vibrantly colorful lives of the every-man beloved of many Irish tales. His unique talents with traditional Celtic instruments such as the concertina, bodhran, bones and mandolin, add an air of authenticity to each piece and his stirringly rich bass voice provides the foundation for the hauntingly beautiful melodies.
Women’s Avalanche Awareness – Wednesday, February 24, 5:30 pm
This women’s-focused FREE Avalanche awareness classroom will cover the basics of avalanche Red Flags, observing weather and snowfall, identifying potential avalanche terrain, self-rescue and safety gear . Additional open discussion follows. This class is a perfect introduction for novices and also a great refresher for more experienced BC travelers. The class begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public, FREE of charge. No registration is required.
Stress-Less with Alpine Arts, Create a Zen-tangle – Wednesday, March 2, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Join Vail Public Library for a stress-less art activity, create a Zen-tangle. This fun and relaxing event is part of our One Book One Valley community read initiative. Vintage clothing collector, Carol Smead, presents an entertaining walk down memory lane by coordinating vintage clothing, accessories and music. This fashion show will take us from the 1880’s up to the 1960’s.
Lionharp Duo, Harp Concerty, Wednesday, March 23, 5:30 pm
Two Celtic harpists and multi-instrumentalists will be performing rare instruments and telling stories. The show features Lisa Lynne & Aryeh Frankfurter playing two Celtic harps, the Swedish Nyckelharpa, Ukranian Bandura and assorted instruments from the mandolin, cittern and bouzouki family. Traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland as well as heartwarming original compositions.

Concert with Jerry Barlow, Wednesday, March 30, 5:30 pmThe Vail Public Library is pleased to, once again, welcome acclaimed Celtic fingerstyle guitarist, Jerry Barlow, to the library for a special concert. Barlow is a warm, accessible performer and storyteller. His unique and skillfully delivered repertoire incorporates favorite traditional pieces as well as his own Celtic-inspired compositions. His expressive arrangements of lively jigs, spirited reels and haunting airs have been described as music to soothe the soul, warm the heart and lift the spirit.
